Solo Show Opening At Rev Coffee

Kristen Ramsey Art at Rev Coffee

Rev Coffee in Smyrna has a wall full of awards and awesome reviews, and it's all well-deserved. You'd be hard pressed to find a better cup of coffee and nicer staff anywhere around. It shows, too, because this place is almost always bustling with people.

I'd say Rev is also an unsung hero in supporting local artists. It's a relationship of synergy, the artists provide the decor for the shop, a month at a time, while Rev provides the venue and a fantastic audience for the artist's work.

Last summer I hung my work at Rev as the artist of the month for the first time and had a good reception, so I asked to be included again and the next open slot fell in February. When I shared with my friend that I'd be the featured artist for the month, she asked if I'd be having an opening reception - and my wheels started turning. As far as I knew, this wasn't the usual practice at Rev but it never hurts to ask, right?

Well, they said yes. It turned out beautifully. I pushed myself to make a lot of new work, and truly make work that expresses my heart. It's so healing and rewarding to be able to do that.

It was a lovely and love-filled evening.

I'm so grateful for each person that came and gave hugs, chatted, looked at my art, bought coffee and art, and lifted each other up!

Thank you to Rev Coffee for hosting, they are so gracious.
Thank you to Kelley Raye for these beautiful photos!
